ZONKEY BOOT: HANDMADE SHOES

The Zonkey Boot brand was founded in 2010 by Alexandra Diaconu and Michael Rollig and is headquartered in their hometown of Vienna, Austria. Zonkey aims to marry modern design with the traditional values of shoemaking.

There is no room for robotic manufacturing and each pair requires hundreds of steps. It is one of the few high-end brands that can boast of having hand-stitched welts, a process usually reserved for the manufacture of custom-made shoes.

Many other steps are also based on pure manual skills. Other operations are carried out with old and often irreplaceable machines, but it is always the guiding hand of a skilled craftsman that guarantees the perfect result. The Zonkey Boot are certainly new to the market, but their philosophy ensures that traditional craftsmanship is revered and respected.
